The short, honest version of how A Glad Scientist handles your information.

This policy applies to information collected through agladscientist.com and any associated email communications.

What we collect

At purchase: your email address, the items purchased, the transaction amount, and the Stripe session ID for the transaction. Stripe handles your payment card details directly; we don't see them or store them.

From your visit: standard server logs from our host, which include IP address, user agent (browser/device type), pages requested, and timestamps. These logs are used for security, debugging, and basic operational analytics.

From you directly: any information you choose to send us — for example, the contents of an email to hello@agladscientist.com.

We don't run third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or behavioral profiling scripts on the site.

How we use your information

  • To process your purchase and deliver the file you bought
  • To send you a receipt and download recovery link
  • To respond to your messages
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations (including tax reporting)
  • To maintain and improve the site

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Service providers

We use the following third parties to operate the site:

  • Stripe — processes payments
  • Vercel — hosts the site and runs our serverless functions
  • Cloudflare — stores and serves your downloads
  • Resend — sends purchase confirmation and recovery emails

Each maintains their own privacy practices, which you can review directly. We share with them only the information necessary for them to perform their function.

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies, primarily during the checkout flow handled by Stripe. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or behavioral analytics.

Data retention

We retain transaction records for as long as needed to support recovery requests and to meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations (typically seven years for financial records). Server logs are retained for a shorter period — typically 30 to 90 days — for security and debugging.

You can request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to our legal obligation to retain transaction records for accounting and tax purposes.

Your rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to retention obligations above)
  • Object to certain uses of your information
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

For EU/UK residents (GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing are: contract performance (to deliver your purchase), legitimate interests (to operate and secure the site), legal obligation (for tax and accounting), and consent where applicable. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

International data transfers

The site is operated from the United States, and your information will be processed there. By using the site, you acknowledge this transfer.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and signed, time-limited download URLs. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change to reflect any update. Material changes will be communicated on the site.
